In over twenty years of history, Arimar has become a real reference point in the maritime sector in Italy and abroad. Founded in the late 80s thanks to the entrepreneurial attitude of Mr Pietro Francisconi, who felt in the need to offer a new concept of Sea Life Safety to boat users by combining innovation, creativity and high competence, Arimar has marked the transition from old self-inflatable rafts packed into "large case" containers, unappealing and unwieldy both for its size and weight, to its new containers, more aesthetically pleasing and less bulky.That same year, Arimar created its Electronics Section, entering in a new cycle of its history and evolving from an exclusively productive company to a trade one, with an increasing number of proposals to offer to the marine market.
The creation of Arimar Electronics resulted in a partnership with many leading brands in the production of boating instrumentation, among which Furuno, world leadeing manifacturer of radars and electronic navigation and communication systems for the marine sector, stands out. In 1993, thanks to the enthusiasm and experience of Arimar's professional human resources, as well as the constantly updated technologies used, the company started a production department for its inflatable boats, giving rise to a wide range of tenders and to several new lines of inflatable boats for pleasure navigation as well as leisure and professional activities.
In order to meet the increasing demand in the professional field, the company developed a department to design custom products with no limitations by customizing or modifying existing ones or creating new ones according to customer’s demands, including the approval process where it is necessary. This allowed Arimar to become the preferred supplier of various Italian State Bodies - such as the Police, the Firefighting forces, the Coast Guard, the Navy - and of the Public Administration.
The company's presence at the most important exhibitions and salons abroad also helps to create an operational proposal to export to Europe and overseas, now managed by a division focused on the needs of the different markets, with their representations in various EU countries and International partnerships.
The customer’s utmost satisfaction, pursued by the whole company, is guaranteed especially by the Office Service and Customer Support in Europe, which takes advantage from the collaboration of over seventy Service Stations authorized for revising life rafts either for pleasure and work boats, thus ensuring competence about service and use, for every work, of original components and spare parts. Arimar directly managens its own products' revising service, providing its customers with a wide Rafts Collect network in order to facilitate the return practices for seasonal rafts revising. Besides, several Assistance Boats Centers guarantee an optimal cover of the Italian coastline. In 1998, Arimar sets out two important goals by obtaining the certification of quality system according to law UNI EN ISO 9001 (TUV Certificate number 50 100 3470) and the supplier qualification of the Italian Navy trough the company's registration to the Italian AFA (Albo Fornitori Difesa - Defense Suppliers Register). In 1999, the company's juridical form changed from S.r.l. to S.p.A. In 2001, the company was recognized as a research laboratory by the Education Office of University Research (art.14 com. 9-15 of the DM 593 of 8th August 2000). The ongoing development and the need to improve the productive sector, together with new entrepreneurial choices, gave rise to several enlargements of the productive department over the years and of the executive, sales and administration offices. In addition, Arimar opened two sales offices in Genoa (for the Deep Sea market) and Viareggio (for the Mega-Yacht market), and its first foreign branch office in Barcelona. In 2007, Arimar enters the professional safety market by producing a range of SOLAS rafts. That same year, the shipyard Solemar - leading producer of large composite boats with a wide range of cabs and open - entered the company. Solemar completes the group’ s offering, which now ranks as the most important company in Europe in the production of boats in size up to 17 m. In January 2007, Arimar also obtained the General Authorization under Electronic Communications Law (DL 259/2003), according to which the company is authorized by the Communications Department to install ans employ radio stations on its ships, even for accounting uses. Arimar is therefore recognized as an Accounting Authority (Code IU05) and as Ian nmarsat Point of Service Activation (PSA 3153), so it is now enabled to deliver Radio-maritime and satellite services in all sections of the maritime market: pleasure navigation, commercial fishing, mega yachts and Merchant Marine. 2009 was a year of great innovation: all the boat ranges were completely renewed, and now features two new lines of pleasure boats - Stile and Premium, officially launched at the Natulical Salon held in Genoa on October 2010 - as well as the already well-known Scuba series, which underwent a great restyling and the new Coastal raft (designed for navigation within 12 miles from the coast).
